Frequently Asked Questions

Iā€™m nervous about joining a group ride, is your group good for beginners?

We strive to be accessible to new riders, and keep our rides at a casual pace. If you are a new rider, you are most welcome! Every ride has a caboose that will make sure that no rider is left behind.

How fast are your rides?

We usually ride about 10-12 mph, with some rides being slower and some being slightly faster. If you have concerns or questions about a particular ride, send us an email or DM on Instagram.

Do I have to live in Ridgewood to join a ride?

No - all are welcome no matter where you live!

When and where does Ridgewood Rides meet?

The group meets every other Saturday morning (Year Round) and every other Thursday evening (Spring/Summer/Fall), typically at Field of Rosemary (corner of Fairview Avenue & Woodbine Street). See Ride Schedule here in the Rides Section.

How can I get involved with Ridgewood Rides?

Join us at one of our monthly Monday meetings to participate in planning our initiatives and future programs, projects, and events!

I have an idea for a group ride route/destination, how can I share it?

Join us on Slack (see Advocacy page) and share your route and destination ideas.

Are children allowed on the rides?

We welcome riders of all ages and abilities, but riders should have basic cycling experience and feel comfortable riding with a group on city streets. Riders under age 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
